BLOOD TESTS

• Blood samples are routinely obtained to guide diagnosis and treatment of all kinds of conditions in various clinical settings.
• Blood tests are grouped into different categories based on the testing method. Those include:
   Blood chemistry: assess electrolyte balance, metabolic and endocrine disorders, and a variety of systemic disorders by measuring corresponding biomarkers
   Hematology: assess blood cells, blood disorders, and systemic disorders causing changes in blood cells makeup and function
   Coagulation: assess hemostasis (platelet and coagulation factor function)
   Immunology: assess immune function, immunologic disorders, and other systemic disorders triggering immune response
   Blood gases: assess acid-base, ventilation, and oxygenation status
