HYPERTROPHIC CARDIOMYOPATHY

Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy

• Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is an inherited disorder where left ventricular myocarcytes are hypertrophied and overtime leading to atrial enlargement.
• ECG findings associated with HCM include:
   Left ventricular hypertrophy
   Atrial enlargement (LA +/- RA)
   Left axis deviation
Q waves in inferolateral leads (II, III, aVF, I, aVL, V5-6)
Deep, inverted "giant" T waves in anteroseptal leads (V2-4) if apical variant of HCM
