AMIODARONE TOXICITY

• Amiodarone is a class II anti-arrhythmic drug that acts on multiple sites in the heart including K channels (main effect), Na, Ca channels, alpha & beta adrenergic receptors.
• ECG findings associated with amiodarone toxicity include include:
   Prolonged QTc (but often has low risk of Torsades de pointes)
   Sinus bradycardia
   AV block
   Intraventricular conduction delay (widened QRS without BBB pattern)
